Six iPhone apps that really work with an Oura Ring, what each does better than the Oura app, and what it costs. No affiliate links.
Disclosure: we make Corio, one of the apps below. I've tried to be fair: every fact about other apps links to its App Store page or help docs, and I list Corio's weak spots too. If something here is wrong or out of date, email evgeniymarendich@gmail.com and I'll fix it.

Jaan ("Oura Demystified") is a free companion app built only for Oura. You tag your days (alcohol, sauna, late meals, stress) and Jaan ranks how each tag correlates with readiness, HRV, heart rate and sleep over a rolling 90-day window. It also finds tag combinations behind your best nights, shows how workouts affect the next 1–3 days, and has a second-by-second sleep timeline and a 180-day history.

Corio reads your Oura tags (including custom and repeating ones) and compares each tagged night with your own 7-night baseline, so you see what moved your HRV, sleep and readiness and the exact nights behind each number. It also connects WHOOP and reads Apple Health, so Apple Watch data works too. Extras: an AI coach that answers from your own week, Cardio Age, a 180-night "Your Nights" recap, food photo logging, CSV export and opt-in comparisons with friends.
Built by Marco Altini, HRV4Training is the long-standing app for athletes who adjust training to HRV. Link Oura in settings and it reads bedtime, wake time, sleep quality and overnight HRV and resting heart rate from Oura Cloud instead of a morning measurement. It adds training load, VO2max and lactate threshold estimates for runners, and tags.

Athlytic turns Apple Watch data into recovery, exertion and sleep scores, with widgets and complications. It can use Oura as your preferred sleep tracker through Apple Health. The catch, from Athlytic's own help center: Oura writes sleep to Apple Health but not HRV, so overnight HRV comes from the watch or from a community Shortcuts workaround.

Bevel combines recovery, sleep, strain, stress and nutrition scores with a strength builder, biological age, a journal and an AI coach. A direct Oura integration shipped in version 2.5.0 (February 2026), so you no longer need Shortcuts workarounds.

Welltory focuses on stress, energy and HRV, and pulls in data from many sources. Its help center says Oura can connect either directly or through Apple Health, and recommends picking one route to avoid duplicates.

Each app had to (1) be on the iPhone App Store today, (2) actually read Oura data, directly or through Apple Health, and (3) add something the Oura app doesn't. I left out apps that only mention Oura in marketing. Oura also has its own integrations library with hundreds of partners (Strava, Natural Cycles and others), which is worth browsing for single-purpose apps.
Apps either connect to Oura's official API (you sign in with your Oura account) or read what Oura writes to Apple Health. Jaan, Corio, HRV4Training, Bevel and Welltory can connect directly. Athlytic reads Oura sleep through Apple Health.
Yes. Jaan is free with no subscription. Corio, Athlytic, Bevel and Welltory are free to download with paid tiers. HRV4Training is a one-time $9.99.
According to Athlytic's help center, Oura writes sleep to Apple Health but not HRV. Apps that only read Apple Health won't see your Oura overnight HRV without a workaround.
Jaan and Corio both compare tagged days or nights with your own data. Jaan ranks correlations over 90 days; Corio compares each tagged night with your own 7-night baseline and shows the nights. If you changed rings or devices recently, read Is it me or my device? first.
No. All of them are independent third-party apps, and none is affiliated with Oura Health.
